About Us

The National Lighthouse Foundation is a non-profit organization that exists as a structure to provide a continuous and intermittent path for our nation’s youth. The Foundation serves as a catalyst to provoke significant change in achieving the hopes and dreams of America’s youth. Through merit and need-based scholarships, grants and charitable contributions, the Foundation creates better citizens for America by providing promising youth opportunity to excel in this, the most competitive society in the world.

The National Lighthouse Foundation is committed to making a difference in lives and addressing issues such as academia, professionalism, maturity, and financial success; equipping our children with skills necessary to live. The National Lighthouse Foundation is lighting paths for the world to follow one child at a time.

Founder, J.R. Henderson, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, has spent over 10 years helping students achieve their goals. He is both a dynamic and energetic individual. He is committed to promoting professionalism and ensuring continual success in the lives of today’s youth. JR has worked with of youth within many capacities. He has served as a motivational speaker for man organizations which include the Department of Family and Children Services, Georgia CASA Senator Connie Stoked College for Kids Program, Georgia Independent Living Program, and many more. JR has traveled to Haiti and South Africa inspiring thousands. He currently serves as chairman of the Jim Casey Youth Opportunity Board for Metro-Atlanta.

Goal of the National Lighthouse Foundation

  • To serve as an advocate for youth within the Foster Care System
  • To assist High School student in obtaining a college education.
  • To ready the college graduate for rewarding and competitive placement in the workforce.
